Becker Wrestling is ready for an exciting season with a well-balanced lineup and very high skill sets from the returning wrestlers.
The head coach this year is Travis Holt (five years of experience), and the assistant coaches this year are Jesse Puncochar (five years of experience), Jaydon Grommersch (seven years of experience), Tee Baker (two years of experience), and Luke Salzer (eight years of experience).
The returning varsity wrestlers are as follows: Brady Anderson, Gus Baldry, Brayden Boots, Logan Carrington, Blaine Cox, Odin Duncombe, Andrew Fischer, Aiden Golley, Tyler Hall, Bennett Kujawa, Rylan Kujawa, Boston Kuschel, Aaron Malikowski, Grady Muellner, Deegan Schmidt, Chase Stupar, and Jacob Williams.
The captains this year are Brayden Boots, Aiden Golley, Bennett Kujawa, and Grady Muellner.
The two goals for this year’s team are to place in the top three at the state tournament and to have multiple All-Conference/State placewinners. Tough competition during conference season is coming in the form of Cambridge-Isanti, and tough section opponents are going to be Foley and DCL.
Last year, the team took third at state with two individual state champions (Kaden Nicolas and Landen Kujawa) and three other place winners (Boston Kuschel, Bennett Kujawa, and Owen Angell).
