In Becker’s final regular season match on the road, the Bulldog girls tennis team beat Pine City by a 4-3 score.

In singles play, Becker’s Courtney Nuest lost to Pine City’s Lydia Adams, 6-1, 7-6 (74) at #1 singles. At #2 singles, Anna Ritchie knocked off Pine City’s Ella Sell, 7-6 (70), 6-4. At #3 singles, Maddie Moe beat Addison Sell of Pine City, 7-5, 6-3. At #4 singles, Ayla Brown defeated Pine City’s Lily Struss, 6-2, 6-4.

In doubles, Kaitlyn Miller and Madisen Berglund of Pine City defeated Becker’s Julia Bengtson and Alayna Lindquist at #1 doubles, 4-6, 7-5, 10-2. Pine City’s Sophia Lahti and Allison Unverzagt beat Jazlyn Toedter and Jackie Yoerg, 3-6, 6-3, 10-7. At #3 doubles, Becker’s Halle Murphy and Arin Hendrickson won over Claire Emmons and Malia Mikyska, 6-1, 4-6, 10-6.

Section 8AA Playoffs

Thursday, the girls headed to StaFit in Sartell for the beginning of the Section 8AA playoffs. In the first round, Becker (seeded #2 in the south) knocked off the Sartell Sabres (seeded #7), 7-0 to advance.  Becker then went on to beat  St. Cloud Tech (#3 seed), 4-3 to gain the semi-finals next Friday.
