Stanz Brothers Scoring Well As Season Ends

The Becker boys golf team competed in the St. Cloud Apollo Invitational at Territory Golf Club Monday afternoon.

Becker’s Stanz brothers (Alex and Zach) continue to shine.   Alex shot a two under 70 and placed second while Zach shot a three-over 75 to tie for 14th place.

Twenty teams played at the Apollo invite and Becker came in ninth place with a team score of 322.  Gavin Murphy shot an 88, Lucas Dertinger and Austin Seavert shot 89’s and Cole Benson shot 92 to round out Becker’s scores.

“Alex and Zach put together two more solid rounds,” said Head Coach Dan Olson.  “Both of their cards had just one double on it.  The rest of the guys had some good stretches of golf, but had a few too many high numbers that really hurt their rounds.”

Team scores: 1). St. Cloud Cathedral - 294; 2). Maple Grove - 296; 3). Wayzata - 300; 4). Elk River - 301; 5). Edina - 302; 6). Osseo - 303; 7). Brainerd - 315; 8). St. Cloud Tech - 320; 9). Becker - 322; 10). Rocori - 325; 11). Albany - 329; 12). Sartell - 336; 13). Pine River-Backus - 342; 14). Little Falls - 343; 15). Princeton and Zimmerman - 352; 17). St. Cloud Apollo/Sauk Rapids - 366; 18). Mora - 367; 19). St. Cloud Cathedral II - 370; 20). Pequot Lakes - 388.
