The Becker Girls soccer team lost 5-1 to Providence Academy in a Section 6A quarterfinal.
The Becker girls won the first section game Tuesday, defeating Rockford 5-2 to set up the quarterfinal game against Providence. Claire Voigt scored five goals against Rockford and Lauren Sticha had an assist.
Alayna Suchy scored the lone goal against Providence and Voigt assisted on the goal.
The defeat brought to an end a successful season in which the Bulldogs completed a three-peat of the Granite Ridge Conference. Seniors, Amber Vogl, Tory Nelson, Lauren Sticha, Joey Rothstein and Claire Voigt have not lost a conference game in three years.
They cap off a successful period for the girls program that has seen the numbers grow to the point that the program has had to introduce a JV2 team.
Seniors Nelson, Vogl and Rothstein have been defensive stalwarts throughout this successful period and in a sport that usually focuses on scoring accolades, they have provided the attacking players with a solid platform.
Seniors Sticha and Claire finished the year ranked second in assists and goals respectively. Sticha finished the regular season with 14 goals and 28 assists, Voigt finished the season with 30 goals and 11 assists.
Sticha will leave the program as the highest points scorer with 214 points, Voigt will leave the program with 201 points.
The Bulldogs finished the season 14-3-1, scoring 68 goals and conceding 16.
