CIS continues to make progress on their different departments and are getting ready for this years game to be successful.
Media and marketing are focusing on the website to keep people informed about what is happening in CIS. Celebrate Becker is coming up Feb. 24 and the CIS squad is preparing for a day of excitement.
“We use this event as a day to practice our branding and PIT set up before our first competition in March,” states CIS.
Team members, Blake and Avery, also spent the day finishing the team’s t-shirt so it’s ready to go for competition and team pictures.
The programming squad is having the programmers complete the boilerplate for the command-based framework. The drivetrain subsystem along with a simple joystick-drive command are minimally supported.
The strategy group scoured the web in order to start scouting the competitors at each of the regionals. They spent their day viewing social media accounts such as Twitter and YouTube in order to get an idea of where other teams are at in their robot build process.
“Knowing this information will allow us to easier find compatible robots during the competitions!” exclaims CIS.
Engineering held try-outs for team members that were interested in being on this year’s drive team. These people are crucial to the team’s success, as they are responsible for maneuvering the robot on the game field at competitions. Build team members finished CIS’s drivetrain and are completing the fabrication of the “boomstick.”
The Chairman’s essay and executive summaries are complete and will be submitted this week. Nerve wracking, but very exciting for the team as they have been working on their submission since July.
