Robinson: Butch Nash award winner

Troy Robinson, Becker Football assistant coach, was presented with the Butch Nash Award at this year’s Minnesota Football Coaches Awards banquet.

Presented by the Minnesota Football Coaches Association, the honor recognizes the top assistant football coaches in the state.

Robinson was recognized as an assistant Coach of the Year for his 17 years of coaching at Becker.  Head coach Dwight Lundeen shared these comments at the banquet:

“Troy played quarterback and linebacker for me - he was a great high school player. He went off to college and later returned to Becker.  He has coached with me for the last 17 years.  Troy truly understands the culture of our football program and has a positive impact on our team.”

Robinson is Becker’s head JV coach and varsity’s offensive line coach.

“When I need help with something in our program, Troy is quick to take on that responsibility,” said Lundeen.  “He is reliable and available.”

Not just his fellow coaches, but the players tend to appreciate Robinson’s effect.

“Our players respect him, love him, and play hard for him,” Lundeen said. “I am blessed to have him on our staff.”
