Tyson Ricker capped off a tremendously successful track season by participating in the MSHSL State Track and Field championships on June 19.
Ricker participated in the 1600 meter race and finished in 14th place overall, as he ran with the quick pack in his division and was one of just two Sophomores who finished the race.
Ricker posted a time of 4:39.91 against the top competition from across Minnesota.
The 2021 MSHSL State meet was the final one under the 2 class system, as next year the MSHSL will add a third class to the track competition season. Becker will compete next year in the Class AA division against teams that come from more similar sized schools.
“Tyson did a great job and again ran a really smart race,” Coach Paul Schmidt said. “As coaches we are all really proud of his season and look forward to the great things he can do in the future.”
