Diver Emi Quill continued to break records and improve her skills as the Becker Bulldog swim and dive team competed in two meets this week.
Milaca Invite
Quill broke her own 11 dive varsity score Saturday in Milaca and broke the meet record and Milaca pool record with a score of 409.00.
“We had many dropped times during this meet,” said Head Coach Tina Tamm. “The girls went in seeded with their best times and many of them improved those times.”
In the 200M freestyle, Kamryn Gass and Piper Romfo both dropped over one second. Sarah Woelfel improved her 11 dive score to 314.05.
In the 100M freestyle, the Bulldogs saw time drops for Hailey Erikson, who dropped just under one second, and Kadance Cox, who dropped five seconds.
Jalissa Johnson dropped 1.5 seconds and Allson Sanderson dropped eight seconds in their 500M freestyle swims.
Three girls swimming the 100M backstroke dropped times, Kamyrn Gass dropped 3.5 seconds, Makenna Thelen dropped 1.5 seconds and Arleigh Pudlick dropped just over one second. Avery Tamm also dropped just under one second on her 100M breaststroke.
“The girls continue to work hard and many are starting to feel it,” said Coach Tamm.
Becker Invite
Thursday, the Wolves and Bulldogs returned to the waters to face each other again — this time in Becker.
“We are at the middle of the season after this week,” said Tamm. “Just when I think the girls are tired and hitting that ‘mid season slump’, they continue to surprise me.”
Tamm said her girls are still dropping their times and improving their swimming.
“The seventh and eighth grade girls are stepping up and improving every meet and their times are showing that,” she said.
Kamryn Gass dropped another two seconds off her 200M freestyle time. Allison Sanderson dropped one second off her 200M free style time and another seven sec off her 500M freestyle time, qualifying her for the section meet.
After dropping just a little bit of time off her 500M freestyle time last Saturday, Jalissa Johnson dropped 11 seconds in the home meet Thursday. Arleigh Pudlick also dropped another three seconds on her 100M backstroke swim.
“We currently have 12 girls qualified for the section meet and look forward to adding more in the next few weeks,” said Tamm.
