Princeton Stops Eagles By 8 1

The Eagles hockey team ran into an aggressive, superior Princeton team over the weekend, losing by an 8-1 score before a packed Princeton arena.

The Tigers stepped out to a 1-0 first period lead, putting 20 shots on goal to the Eagles’ seven. Junior Goalie Alec Anderson was busy making saves.

In the second period, the Tigers added three more scores while B-BL countered with one. That was a shot by Junior Trent Rupar.

Princeton finished the blasting with four more third period goals.  Anderson finished up with 41 saves for the evening.

The game got a little chippy in the second period, with Princeton players making five trips to the penalty box and the Eagles, two.

The Eagles went to the box three more times in the third period, aiding Princeton scoring chances.

A big crowd turned out for the game, with standing room only and in some cases, viewers three-deep around the rink.

B-BL was in action Thursday night at Princeton against St. Paul Highland Park. They are also playing at Princeton today (Saturday) against Wahpeton-Breckenridge.
