LINDSAY OLSON was the girls gymnastics only representative at state last weekend where she placed 36th in vault for Class A.

Olson Finishes 36th At State

Becker’s Lindsay Olson capped off her high school gymnastics career by finishing 36th at state in Class A in the vault exercise last weekend.
 
Olson made state by placing second in vault at sections the week before in Monticello with a 9.225 score. The Bulldogs finished fifth behind Sartell-St. Stephen, Big Lake, Monticello and North Branch.
 
Saturday at state, Olson  nailed the same season-best score of 9.225 on her first vault attempt of the day. The exercise was won by Teagan Schmidt of Watertown-Mayer, who tallied a 9.550.
 
Detroit Lakes took home the state title in Class A with a team score of 150.925. They were followed by Watertown-Mayer/Mound-Westonka (147.425), Mahtomedi (146.450), Sartell-St. Stephen (146.450), Pine Island/Zumbrota (144.875), Willmar (144.000), Waconia (142.425) and Worthington (141.075).
 
Olson — along with teammate Miranda O’Brien — were the sole seniors on Coach Jen Harmoning’s team.
