Lance Pettis has taken over as head coach of the Big Lake boys’ basketball team and will try to build on last year’s 14-14 record and section semifinal loss. The Hornets will have to replace nine seniors, including four of their top five scorers from last season.
The team kicks off their season by hosting Annandale on December 5. The rest of their schedule looks like this 12/12 @ Hutchinson, 12/13 vs. North Branch, 12/17 @ Princeton, 12/19 vs. Zimmerman, 12/27-28 @ Perham Tournament, 1/7 vs. St. Francis, 1/10 @ Monticello, 1/11 vs. Bemidji, 1/14 @ Delano, 1/17 vs. Becker, 1/21 vs. Chisago Lakes, 1/23 @ Cambridge-Isanti, 1/28 @ North Branch, 1/31 vs. Princeton, 2/1 @ St. Cloud Apollo, 2/4 @ Zimmerman, 2/6 @ St. Francis, 2/11 vs. Monticello, 2/18 @ Becker, 2/20 vs. Spectrum, 2/21 @ Chisago Lakes, 2/25 vs. Cambridge-Isanti, 2/27 vs. West Lutheran, and 2/28 vs. Legacy Christian Academy. Section playoffs begin on March 4th.
