Neuwirth Takes Fourth As Do The Bulldogs In First Meet

The Becker girls golf team hit the links Monday for the first time this season in the Monticello 14-team Invitational nine-hole match.

The match was originally scheduled to feature an 18-hole meet, but due to severe cold, the match was reduced to nine holes.

The Becker girls finished near the top (fourth place) of the standings with Ashley Neuwirth garnering the top score of 45, good for fourth place as an individual. Aly Fisher finished with a 48, Cheyenne Piccolo a 51 and Rachel Vogl a 52.

“Given the challenging conditions, I was very proud that we finished with a score under 200,” said Head Coach Steve Whittaker.  “Because of the weather,  we hadn't yet played a single hole before this tournament.   I am very excited to watch our scores drop as we finally get outside to practice.”
