The Becker girls golf team traveled to Milaca Tuesday to participate in their final Granite Ridge Conference meet of the year. The meet was held at Stone’s Throw Golf Course.
And just as they have been doing all season long, they took first place with a team score of 371 and secured the top spot in the conference with the win.
“It was really exciting for us not only to win the conference as a team, but to take first place in each of the five conference meets,” said Head Coach Steve Whittaker.
“We were undefeated in Granite Ridge meets.”
Ashley Neuwirth and junior Cheyenne Piccolo finished the season as the top two golfers in the conference. Their point totals were within one half a point (46.5 - 46).
Sophomore Rachel Vogl was Becker’s most improved over the season as she finished seventh in the conference standings, missing all conference by one stroke. Ninth grader Macy Erson finished eighth in the six team standings.

Becker's Ashley Neuwirth and Foley's Bailyn Walz each shot scores of 43 to earn medalist honors at a Granite Ridge Conference at Wapicada Golf Course Monday.
Albany's Lauren Anderson and St. Cloud Cathedral's Ann Berdan and Lauren Herker each shot 44s.
Becker shot a nine-hole, foursome total of 185 to win team honors and maintain its conference lead through four meets. Albany took second and Cathedral third.

The girls will play in an invitational at Wapicada in St. Cloud next Wednesday and then on to the section meet in June at Blackberry in Sartell.
