The Becker Bulldog volleyball team suffered two losses this week.
Foley 3, Becker 1
The Bulldogs hosted a strong team from Foley Tuesday night. Head Coach Greg Lynch’s girls struggled in the first two sets to defend against a consistent offense from Foley. However, in the third set, the
Bulldog’s defense was clicking and was able to put up higher quality passes to setters Sydney Bordson and Abby Maruska, who assisted Becker's own run of consistent kill attempts resulting in a third set win, 25-21.
Unfortunately for the Bulldogs, Foley fought back hard in the fourth set and won the match three sets to one.
Cathedral 3, Bulldogs 0
Thursday, the Bulldogs lost to Granite Ridge Conference's #1 ranked St. Cloud Cathedral at home.
Becker started the match with a number of great plays, including a huge kill from outside hitter Lexa Hosier. However, as the first set continued, Becker began to struggle against Cathedral's solid defensive passing and began to make an increasing number of ball handling errors, leading to a 3-0 match loss.
