Morks break records at OMST

It was a crazy successful day for the Mork sisters - Izza and Grace - at the recent Ogilvie-Mora Swim Team (OMST) meet, as they each came home with a pool record.

It was also the Bulldogs’ final dual meet of the season, with Becker coming out on top 100-72.

“It’s different to swim in Ogilvie because it’s a 25 meter pool so the times need to be calculated from meters to yards after they swim so they know if they dropped time or not,” Coach Tina Tamm said.  “A first glance at the clock when you touch the wall will always show added time to your race but then you remember - the pool is longer.”

Grace Mork broke the 2023 record for the 400M (500 yd) freestyle going 4:39.06 (5:18.06), and Izza Mork broke the 2000 pool record for the 100m breaststroke (100 yd) going 1:18.31 (1:10.42).

Up Next

Next up for the Bulldogs is the JV championship meet in Monticello on Friday, Oct 24.

“We have our JV girls training for that right now while our varsity girls have begun their training for sections,” Tamm said.  “We still have 2.5 weeks until sections which gives us a lot of time to get ready.”

Sections will be held in Becker on Nov 6 - 8.
