Men’s, Women’s Clubs Looking To Grow In 2019

The men’s and women’s Pebble Creek golf clubs held their annual open house last weekend, greeting existing and potential new members.

“It looks like registrations are trending upward,” said Women’s Club President Karin Pauly.

Women’s Club

The Pebble Creek Women’s Club (PCWC) are offering programs and leagues for all skill levels of golf, from the serious golfer to those just learning the game.

The PCWC is launching two new leagues this year — a social league for the non-golfer wanting to socialize on Tuesday nights and participate in volunteer events — and a scramble league for those seeking a more casual golf experience.

The PCWC will continue to offer the 18-hole and 9-hole leagues, match play, and Pebble Creek Club Championship competitions.

Under their “Pebble Creek Cares” initiative, the PCWC will raise funds to donate to Becker schools for supplies and donate birthday bags for the Becker Food Shelf.

The PCWC board consists of Pauly (president), Stacey Vetsch (VP), Kirsten Voller (past president), Karla Johnson  (secretary), Nicole Lane (treasurer), Robin Dingmann  (director), Jennifer Miller (director), Jamie May (director) and Amy Stanger (director).

Men’s Club

The PCMC is offering a plethora of choices to meet a golfer’s needs this season. One can choose from either their traditional full men’s club membership, or an ala-carte membership. PCMC is also offering a junior membership again this season.

Lonnie Fluck is the club’s president this year and he is excited about the numerous selections of opportunities for the casual or serious golfer.

“We have an ‘anytime league’ where you play when you want — not just on Wednesdays,” said Fluck. We also have a nine-hole league offering greater flexibility with the virtual golfer.”

The ala-carte membership is for those players who only play in league or just need a handicap and participate once in awhile.

They also offer junior memberships where junior members can join the men’s club if they can easily walk and play 18 holes in three hours and 45 minutes or less.

“We will also hold a junior club championship again this year,” said Fluck.

Also for the golfer who is not so serious about their golf game and wants to play between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Wednesday nights, the PCMC features a casual match play league.

The PCMC board consist of Fluck (president), Eric Olsen (VP), Andy Voller (treasurer), Derek Brunsberg (secretary), Mike Abrahamson (marketing/tech), Pat Utz (weekend event chair), Jerry Vetsch (weekend vice chair), Dan Brannan (handicap chair), Curt Renslow (match play chair),  Scott Pauly (league chair) and Tom Keller (league vice chair).
