The Becker Bulldog trap team wrapped up the regular competition season and took first place in Class 1A Conference 8.
Becker finished strong in week five with a number of student athletes hitting personal bests. Logan Mattson and Adam Golembeck hit 25 straights and finished the day with 49/50's.
“I can't tell you how proud I am once again of these athletes,” said Head Coach Chris Keeler. “They show nothing but respect, responsibility, and professionalism representing the school and our sport.”
Keeler says their dedication shows in the fact they added another award to the trophy case — demonstrating the continued tradition of excellence Becker schools have come to represent.

The Bulldog trappers have the league championship to compete in in Alexandria June 11-19. The event is the qualifier for the MSHSL state tournament in Prior Lake June 22 where students who had the top 100 averages during the regular season competition as well as 40 teams will qualify.
Over 8,000 student/athletes will descend upon Alexandria representing 308 Minnesota high schools.
The Minnesota State High School League was the first and is the only state high school interscholastic athletic association in America to provide support and recognition for a high school trap shooting state tournament.
“We won't know until the championship is over if we qualify or not as the league had some changes to the criteria,” said Keeler. “But we'll definitely go for it and have as good as chance as any other team.”
Keeler was notified late this week that his team has qualified for the National Tournament in Lansing, MI, but is unsure at this time whether he will be able to field a squad to make the trip.
