Myah Mortensen, age 14, of Palmer, is an avid hunter. Myah has always done her hunting near Santiago at her grandparents farm (Wild Marsh Sporting Clays - Debbie and Chris Mortensen). 

Myah hunted the recent youth hunt all four days, but didn’t see anything, so she proceeded to hunt every day during the firearms season that followed. She was thrilled when she saw and shot a five point buck with her 20 gauge Savage on her sixth day of the firearms season. 

Myah has hunted since age 10 and is legal to hunt to alone, but wanted to hunt with her dad (Josh Mortensen), as it’s a special time together. Myah’s heart’s desire was to make her dad proud. She certainly did that.
