BECKER SENIOR BOBBY LEE finished his high school wrestling career by taking home the sixth place title at 170-lbs. in last weekend’s state tournament.

Lee Finishes Sixth At State In Wrestling

Of the five Becker Bulldog wrestlers who made it to state this past weekend, only one got as high as sixth place (Bobby Lee).

At 106-lbs., Josh Lumley’s (17-12) first match was against Jake Gliva (38-9) of Simley with Gliva advancing with a 12-4 win. It was Lumley’s only match of the tournament.
 
At 145-lbs., Cody Ferris (31-11) lost his first round match to Jacob Steinbauer (39-5) of Waconia who eventually finished in third place. Ferris’s second round match was against Jackson Schauer (32-8) of Grand Rapids and Ferris eked out a 2-1 win in three overtimes to advance. Ferris’s day ended later on when he lost 3-2 to Alexi Bode (39-8) of Fosston/Bagley.
 
Zach Zimmer (23-3), wrestling at 160-lbs., started off on the right foot, beating Jarrett Nosal (26-8) of Detroit Lakes by a 4-1 score. However, Zimmer was pinned in his second round match against Thomas Miller (39-8) of Plainview-Elgin-Millville, then subsequently lost to Jake Pramann (31-12) of Princeton 5-4 to end his title hopes.
 
At 170-lbs., Bobby Lee (30-7) beat Joe Virga (33-2) of Chisago Lakes Area, 5-3 in his first round match, then beat Derek Johnson (34-6) of Cannon Falls in his second match. Lee would go on to lose to Derek Dahlke (40-8) of Scott West, 7-5 in overtime, then lose to Billy McClay (35-7) of Princeton 7-3 before ending his tournament run with a loss to Luke Kelvington (20-3) of Foley 5-3 in overtime for a sixth place finish.
 
At 220-lbs., Mason Olson (31-9) was pinned by Dalton Clouse (25-8) of Glencoe-Lester Prairie at 3:29, then lost to Dylan Winegar (30-12) of Waseca, 7-5 in overtime to end his tournament hopes.
 
Garrett Aldrich (39-7) of Albert lea Area won the title at 106-lbs. Jakob Stageberg (38-0) of New London-Spicer took home the championship at 113-lbs. Skyler Petry (42-0) of WEM/JWP won the title at 120-lbs. Anthony Luft (42-2) of Worthington took first in the 126-lb. category.
 
Griffin Parriott (42-1) of New Prague finished first at 132-lbs. Zach Siegle (49-1) of Scott West won the title at 138-lbs. Brady Berge (50-0) of Kasson-Mantorville won first place at 145-lbs. Mack Short (47-3) of Simley captured first place at 152-lbs. Andrew Fogarty (48-1) of Scott West won first place at 160-lbs.
 
Josh Selly (40-2) of Tri City United took home the first place trophy at 170-lbs. Austin May (37-7) of Zimmerman won first place at 182-lbs. Lance Benick (48-0) of Totino Grace captured the 195-lb. crown. Clay Broze (34-0) of Cannon Falls won first at 220-lbs. and Sam Stoll (45-0) of Kasson-Mantorville took home the heavyweight title at 285-lbs.
