Lakers Fall To 5 5

The Clear Lake Lakers  played two games this past week, losing to the Sartell Stone Poneys and the Foley Lumberjacks.
It was the Lakers’ last regular season game of the summer.
Poneys 17, Lakers 5
The Sartell Stone Poneys traveled to Clear Lake last Saturday and came out swinging! The game lasted eight innings with the Stone Poneys bashing the Lakers by 12 runs.
Rudy Sauerer and Brandon Reinking each had three hits with Sauerer notching six RBI and Reinking four in the onslaught. The Stone Poneys accumulated 11 walks and 16 hits in the game.
Jeff Amann started on the mound for Sartell, going six innings, giving up five hits, three runs, two walks while striking out five.
Foley 10, Clear Lake 1
Things didn’t get any better for the Lakers the next day as the Lumberjacks (8-2) chopped down the Lakers by nine runs.
Hunter Hammers earned the win on the mound for Foley, allowing just one run in seven innings while striking out four.
Noah Winkelman led the Lumberjacks at the plate with two hits, two walks and two RBI. Tanner Brosh added three RBI in the win.
Clear Lake’s Mike Smith took the loss. Jordan Prill led the anemic Lakers’ offense with three hits while Ben Anderson had the Laker’s only RBI.
Clear Lake finished the season 5-5 for a fourth place position in the Sauk Valley standings — six games behind first place and the undefeated Sartell Muskies (11-0).
