The Becker Lady Bulldogs basketball team improved to 13-2 by beating two teams in similar fashion this past week.
Becker 71, Sartell 44
In another absolute drubbing, the Bulldogs moved to 13-2 with an impressive 27-point win over the Sartell Sabres in a non-conference AAA contest Monday night in Becker.
The Bulldogs forced 39 turnovers by applying intense pressure in the first half. Becker shot 45% for the game where Sartell shot 36%. Becker outrebounded Sartell 37-44.
Becker got nice performances from Adeline Kent and Julia Bengtson, each contributing 17 points. Bengtson added five assists and five steals.
Megan Gamble scored 12 points, had six rebounds, three assists and four steals. Alayna Lindquist chipped in 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and five steals.
Becker scoring: Bengtson 17, Kent 17, Gamble 12, Lindquist 10, Dani Nuest 10, Maren Westin 2, Jackie Yoerg 2, Masog 2 and Ayla Brown 1.
Sartell scoring: Aubri Akervik 17, Emily Driste 9, Gretta Maholwald 8, Adyn Larson 3, Courtney Snoberger 2, Elle Mahowald 2, Elizabeth Crandell 2 and Megan Driste 1.
Becker 71, Albany 37
Last Friday, the Bulldogs trounced the Albany Huskies by 34 points in Albany.
Becker got a fantastic performance from Megan Gamble, who scored 23 points to go with 10 rebounds and seven steals. Megan had a an efficiency rating of 33, which is outstanding.
“She had an all around great game and was very active,” said Head Coach Dan Baird. “She played really hard and really smart!”
Julia Bengtson added 13 points, seven rebounds, and three steals. Adeline Kent had 13 points, five rebounds and four assists with zero turnovers. Lexi Masog scored 11 points and added four rebounds for the Bulldogs.
Becker held returning All-Conference Player of the Year, Paige Meyer, to 13 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Becker outrebounded Albany 46-22 which was the difference in the game.
“This was by far our best rebounding performance of the season,” Baird said.
Becker forced 22 turnovers and committed only 13. Becker shot 42% from the field to Albany's 39%.
The win moved Becker to 12-2 on the season and 5-0 in the Granite Ridge Conference. Albany fell to 7-5 on the season and 4-2 in the conference.
