Becker 52, Albany 45
The Becker Lady Bulldogs defeated the Albany Huskies by a score of 52-45 Friday night in Albany.
Becker played an excellent defensive game, and out-rebounded Albany 46-33.
“We played excellent defense without fouling which was a valuable lesson for our team,” said Baird. “Last game we committed 27 fouls and broke down on defense.
Against Albany, we didn't give up easy buckets and played defense with our feet which was nice to see.
Bengtson had 19 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Nuest had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
“Courtney was super aggressive all game,” said Baird.
Lindquist had an excellent game on the defensive end, holding Albany's standout player, Paige Meyer to only 14 points.
“Alayna and Jules (Bengtson) made it tough for Paige all night, switching off on her,” Baird said.
Benda scored nine points, had eight rebounds to go with four assists.
“Haley continues to be a great leader for the Bulldogs on and off the court,” Becker’s head coach said. “Basically, there were a lot of one-and-dones for Albany since we did such a great job boxing out and contesting shots. We played an excellent game without shooting well against a good team, only 35% as a team.”
Albany fell to 6-3 in the conference and 10-8 overall.
