The Becker girls lacrosse team’s season came to a gut-wrenching end Wednesday as they lost to Delano in overtime in the Section 8 playoffs.
Becker got five goals from Mckenzie Opgenorth and four from Brandy Watercott, but still lost by two, 16-14.
Goalkeeper Kelsi Halvorson faced 24 shots and saved eight in the loss.
Also scoring for Becker were Katie Pursley (three goals) and Megan Murphy (two goals). Watercott also had three assists.
Becker finished with 14 goals, six assists, 32 draws, 15 draw controls, 17 fouls, nine free position shots, 16 ground balls, 34 shots and 26 shots on goal.
Delano was 10-3 heading into the game while Becker was 6-5.
