The Becker Bulldog girls basketball team won their only game this week and are now ranked #8 in the state by the StarTribune in class 3A.
Bulldogs 89, Thunder 77
Alex Johnson had 34 points for host Becker in a Granite Ridge Conference win over Zimmerman Thursday night.
Claire Thorn added 16 for the Bulldogs (3-0, 6-2). Naomi Hagstrom had 20 points and Alyssa Daugherty had 18 points for Zimmerman.
After starting the year 0-2, the Bulldogs have exploded for six straight wins.
Becker scoring: Johnson 34, Thorn 16, Rachel Vogl 15, Alexa Hanowski 10, Amanda Lindsay 7, Abbigail Morrell 6 and Mackenzie Kramer 3.
Zimmerman scoring: Hagstrom 20, Daugherty 18, Delaney Wilder 13, Ilea May 11, Demie Bond 10 and Danielle Williams 5.
As of Jan. 2, the Lady Bulldogs were ranked 21st in 3A according to QRF Rankings. They have the 12th best record in the state (6-2) and are 10th in scoring — averaging nearly 64 points a game — while only giving up an average of 46 points a game.
