The Big Lake/Princeton boys’ lacrosse team picked up a 10-8 victory Tuesday night over conference rival Becker.
The Huskies held an 8-4 lead at the half but had to withstand a late rally to secure the win. Beau McCrone led the team with four goals in the win.
BL/P was hot from the start, scoring five goals in the first quarter to lead 5-2.
They extended their lead before halftime with three more goals in the second quarter. After an even third quarter, the Bulldogs rallied late to pull within two with just minutes remaining. However, that would be as close as they would get with the Huskies holding on for a 10-8 win.
Landon Bagne, Nick Akerman, and Rowen Cremers all scored for the Huskies.
The team’s game at Monticello, originally scheduled for 4/17, was postponed due to weather and will now be played 4/24. After that, the team plays Cloquet-Esko-Carlton on the road Saturday. Then next Tuesday, the Huskies will host ROCORI.
