The Big Lake dance team took first place in both varsity jazz and varsity kick last Saturday in Cannon Falls. 

Other schools in attendance were Woodbury, Tri-City United, Byron, and Kasson-Mantorville. The scores for the two varsity teams were each the third highest in program history. 

The junior varsity teams all had strong showings as well. JV and B-squad jazz each won their respective divisions, and JV kick took second. 

In the team’s first invite of the season on Nov. 23, the Hornets traveled to Rosemount High School where they had some strong performances. Competing against Northfield, Holy Angels, Albert Lea, and St. Paul all three teams finished first or second. Varsity and B-squad jazz each took second, while JV jazz took first place.
