Hornets go scoreless against Hutch, lose 32-0

The Hornet football team traveled to Hutchinson last Friday night and were shutout for the fourth straight game.

The Hornets have now scored just 18 points in their six games and dropped to 0-6 for the 2021 season.

Friday, it was all Hutchinson as they improved to 5-1 with a TD in the first quarter, two in the second and two in the third. All five TDs were runs of 25, seven, two, three and one.

Big Lake QB Tyler Anderson was seven-of-eight for 82 yards and two interceptions. Big Lake just managed 99 yards total to Hutchinson’s 312. The Hornets committed five turnovers (three fumbles and two INTs) and had a half a dozen penalties in the game.

Trent Josewski was Big Lake’s top runner with 12 yards on nine carries. Jonah Mallberg was the top receiver with three receptions for 42 yards including a 19-yarder.

Hutchinson’s Levi Teetzel gained 136 yards on 14 carries and had two TDs. AJ Ladwig had 119 yards on 14 carries and two scores.

The Hornets have two games remaining in the regular season. The first was Friday at St. Francis (2-4) and the final game is Oct. 20 at Rocori (4-3).
