Last Thursday, the Hornets fell to Princeton, 46-26. It was a back-and-forth meet early, with teams splitting the first eight matches.
At 106, Kale Westgaard pinned Princeton’s Brady McLennan at 3:17.
Levi Thompson of Princeton beat Beau McCrone 11-2 at 113.
At 120, Cash Stortz pinned Brenden Marstein at 4:26 before Princeton’s Isaac pinned Gavin Jones at 1:05 at 126 pounds.
At 132, Dallas Sibbet of Big Lake beat James Kohl, 13-11.
Tyler Wells of Princeton pinned William Hess at 1:05 at 138 pounds before Big Lake’s Joe Murphy beat Isaac Thompson by tech fall at 145.
But Princeton won the next six weight class matches to clinch the meet.
At 152, Noah Ballweber pinned Spencer Vold at 3:51.
At 160, Dalton Vanderbeek beat Cash McCrone, 10-3.
At 170, Parker Adkins beat Carson Gellerman, 6-0.
At 182, Bryce Haubenschild pinned Gauge Hoffman at 5:44.
At 195, Will Schultz III pinned Trajan Mussehl at 1:34.
At 220, Riley Paetznick-Huhtala pinned Henry Kuchera at 1:44.
Big Lake got its final points of the evening in the heavyweight class when Kane Lapointe pinned Kevin Boeke at 0:34.
In a quad meet Last Tuesday, Big Lake beat Dassel-Cokato, 50-12, but lost to Hutchinson, 42-28 and Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (BBE), 45-27.
Against Dassel-Cokato, Big Lake won nine matches.
