Hornet Swim/Dive team beats C-I

Big Lake’s varsity girls swim and dive team beat Cambridge-Isanti at home last Thursday at their first home dual meet of the season.   

This was Big Lake’s second win of the season and their first win at home, and it was a very energetic and fun meet for the girls.  

Big Lake’s 1,2,3 finish in the 500 freestyle with Piper Fridgen capturing first, Madelyne Fridgen second, and Aimee Lu third; Emily Edlund won the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly individual events. 

Piper Fridgen won two individual events in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle;

Abigail Fridgen won two individual events including the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle.

Big Lake’s 400 freestyle relay of Emily Edlund, Charlotte Overby, Piper Fridgen and Abigail Fridgen placed first.  

Big Lake’s 200 freestyle relay of Emily Edlund, Maia Wenderski, Abigail Fridgen, and Adelyn Fox also placed first.  

Final Score:

 1. Big Lake Girls Swim & Dive - 97  points; 2. Cambridge- Isanti High School - 89 points.

At Milaca

The Big Lake girls swim and dive team traveled to Milaca on Sat., Sept. 13 and delivered a strong overall performance.  

The Foley Falcons led the overall team rankings with 364 points, closely followed by Becker High School with 361 points. Milaca High School placed third with 206 points, while Holdingford and Princeton rounded out the top five with 179 and 165 points, respectively. Big Lake finished with 118 points.
