Hornet sports team capsules

The Big Lake Hornets sports teams had an eventful week. Following is an encapsulated rundown of games, meets, and matches.

Hornet Softball

The Hornet ladies improved to 6-2 with a 10-0 win over St. Francis on the road last Thursday and a 3-0 win over Monticello last Friday. Just their second loss came at the hands of the Bulldogs, who  eked out a 5-4 win over the Hornets Tuesday on the road. 

Next up, they traveled to North Branch Thursday for a doubleheader, then and at Chisago Lakes Monday before coming home for a doubleheader Tuesday against Cambridge-Isanti.

Hornet Baseball

The Hornet boys baseball team’s record improved to 4-5 with two wins over Monticello  (7-4) and Becker (4-3) and one loss to St. Francis (6-4).

Next up, they hosted North Branch Thursday and traveled to St. Cloud Tech Monday.

Hornet Boys Lacrosse

The boys fell to 1-5 with losses to Sartell/Sauk Rapids (18-4) and Becker (15-3).

Up next, they traveled to Monticello Thursday for an early evening matchup.

Hornet Girls Lacrosse

The Hornet girls stayed winless with and 11-5 loss to Sartell/Sauk Rapids last Wednesday and a 16-3 loss to Becker Monday.

Next up, they hosted Monticello Friday.
