The Big Lake girls’ basketball team had their season end on Tuesday night with a 71-59 loss to the Zimmerman Thunder in the Section 5-AAA play-in game. 

Greta Layton was the leading scorer for the Hornets with 17 points. Mya Knapp and Shiloh Elliott also reached double figures with 15 and 12 respectively. Other scorers were Ashley Fitzgibbons with seven, Kaelyn Besler with five, and Alexa Parks with three. 

Last Friday the team finished the regular season in Chisago Lakes with a 56-52 loss to the Wildcats. 

The team finishes the season with a record of 5-22 including a 2-14 mark in Mississippi 8 Conference play.
