Hornet boys trounce North Branch by 20+

The Big Lake Hornet boys basketball team improved to 2-1 with a road win over North Branch last Friday night.

The final score was Big Lake 87, North Branch 65.

Will Newland led the offense with 25 points including seven three-pointers. Trevor Stukenholtz tallied 17 as the Hornets ran off to a 45-29 lead by halftime.

Other scorers for the Hornets were: Lane Pettis with 12, Eddie Reinert with 12, Leroy Hamrin with 11, Maurice Yekeku with four, Carter Gerlach with two,  Caelin McConville with two and Danny Rotz with two.

Vs. Chisago Lakes

In a game versus Chisago Lakes, the Hornets captaured another big win, this time it was Judd Layton scoring 16 pints to lead the Hornets to a 81-79 win Monday night.

Also scoring in double digits were: Leroy Hamerin (15) and Eddie reinnert (14).
