The Becker Big Lake varsity hockey Eagles beat the Moose Lake Area Rebels, 3-1, at home Tuesday.
The Rebels came out strong in the first period, scoring their goal after 3:16 minutes in the period. It was the only shot that got by Goalie Justin Morrow.
The teams were scoreless in the second period with neither side giving ground, but when Eagles Coach Doug Freichels sent the players back on the ice for the third period, the Eagles sticks caught fire.
Taylor Giving scng sc ored at 3:55 with an assist from Nick Cencer to tie up the game.
Brandon Christianson put the Eagles ahead at 11:15 with assists from Grant Vickerman and Ryan Murnane.
Then Cencer scored with an assist from Giving at 16:47 to confirm the win.
The Eagles play Pine City-Rush City Friday, results to follow next week. They also take on St. Cloud Tech Tuesday and Mora- Hinckley-Finlayson Thursday. Both games are at home.
