The Becker Bulldog girls gymnastics team recently held their after-season banquet in which awards and honors were handed out for another very successful season.
Both JV and varsity teams went 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the Granite Ridge Conference. Varsity was the Section 7A runner-up.
Gymnasts who displayed perfect attendance were: Kassidi Andres, Haley Olsen and Haley Hubbard.
Eleven gymnasts were honored for having a cumulative GPA of 3.0 to 4.0 (Spotlight on Scholarship Awards) and those recipients were: Andres, Sabrina Tiemens, Megan Murphy, Montanna Edling, Chloe Madsen, Olsen, Lexi Reichle, Hannah Schmidt, Hubbard, Aubree Lahr and Lexi Michels.
Four athletes made the All-Conference Academic team (GPA of 3.75 to 4.0) including, Andres, Tiemens, Schmidt and Hubbard.
Andres was given the Scholar Athlete award for having the highest GPA amongst 11th and 12th grade varsity gymnasts.
The most improved on vault award went to Tiemens; most improved on bars to Michels; most improved on beam to Reichle; most improved on floor to Reichle; most improved overall (voted by teammates) to Reichle.
The JV vaulter of the year award went to Olsen; JV swinger of the year to Michels; JV beamer of the year to Chloe Madsen; JV tumbler of the year to Madsen.
Varsity vaulter of the year went to Schmidt; varsity swinger of the year to Olsen; varsity beamer of the year to Murphy; varsity tumbler of the year to Hubbard.
First year letter winners were: Madsen and Reichle; second year letter winner is Olsen; third year letter winners were: Andres, Tiemens, Murphy, Schmidt and Hubbard; fourth year letter winner was Edling.
Granite Ridge All-Conference went to Murphy, Edling, Olsen, Reichle, Schmidt and Hubbard.
Granite Ridge All-Conference Honorable Mention went to Tiemens.
All-State Honorable Mention went to Hubbard (vault, floor), Edling (floor), Olsen (bars), Reichle (beam), Schmidt (vault, beam, floor, all-around), Murphy (beam, floor, all-around) and Tiemens (vault, beam)
Hubbard and Schmidt were honored for participation in the state meet.
MVP for JV team was Madsen; Co-Most Dedicated (as voted by team) was Andres and Tiemens; MVP for varsity team (as voted by team) was Schmidt.
