Gustafson, Vilayphanh Named To All Area Team

Two Becker Bulldog football players were recently named to the St. Cloud Times’ All-Area team.

Senior offensive lineman Brandon Gustafson is a three-year starter who earned All-District honors for the Bulldogs. A Vikings All-State North Team member, he's 6-6 and 250 pounds. Head coach Dwight Lundeen says he is a great blocker and very strong. He has five college scholarship offers.

Kevyn Vilayphanh, who came out of nowhere this year to lead the Bulldogs in receiving, was another Becker senior who stood out and was named to the Times’ team. Vilayphanh teamed up well with junior quarterback Josh Fobbe to create one of the top passing/receiving combinations in the North Central District White Division. He caught 38 passes for 734 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Bulldogs. Extremely fast, he's 5-8 and 140 pounds.

QB Fobbe and guard Kaj Fritsch (Becker, Sr., G) were honorable mentioned.

Becker has had six players named the Times’ player of the year since 1988 including: Kyle Potter (2002), Shane Potter (2005), Matt Veldman (2006), Brett Watercott (2012), Michael Veldman (2014) and Dillon Radunz (2015).
