Becker High School 2024 graduate Brayden Graning recently completed his season playing for the West Bend Power of the NA3HL (Juniors) hockey team.
Graning’s team compiled a record of 35-8-2-2 in the regular season, which was a franchise record for wins in a season.
In the playoffs, the Power went 6-2-1 en route to a finals appearance where they eventually lost to the Louisiana Drillers.
Graning, a right wing for the Power, played in 43 games, scoring 27 points - nine goals and 18 assists.
After securing the regular season championship. the Power then went on to win the playoff championship and a spot in the Fraser Cup (NA3HL Championship). Just six teams of the 35 in the league make it to the title series.
West Bend defeated the Helena Bighorns and tied the New Mexico Ice Wolves to earn a spot in the semi-finals, where the power defeated the Granite City Lumber Jacks to earn the right to take on the Drillers in the title match.
This was the Powers’ first appearance in the Fraser Cup finals.
