The Becker girls basketball team continued their roll towards the playoffs with two big wins against North Branch and Monticello this week.
Becker 91, North Branch 17
In one of the biggest mis-matches of the year, the Lady Bulldogs hosted the North Branch Vikings last Friday and won by 80.
As usual, the girls got off to a fast start and their relentless sharing of the ball and defending every in-bound pass, meant the Bulldogs would post their 22nd win of the year easily.
North Branch’s Katherine Carlson accounted for 12 of the team’s 17 points as Becker pounced on the weaker rival and never let up.
Adeline Kent was the top scorer as she tallied 19 points, had three rebounds, one assist and nine steals. Three other Bulldogs scored in double-digits including, Julia Bengtson (16), Megan Gamble (13) and Courtney Nuest (12). Bengtson also finished with seven assists, five rebounds and four steals.
