The Becker girls had a good night at this meet and Head Coach Trish Reimer-Kealy explored the different events for using some of her girls. It also gave her ninth graders a chance to see what they could do.

The meet started out on a positive note with Becker’s 4x800M relay girls running away with their race. The time recorded for Dani Nuest, Alli Hendrickson, Lexi Dehmer and Julia Bengtson was 10:15.5 — way ahead of second place Albany with 11:01.17.

Becker’s 4x200M relay team of Madi Pleoger, Kayden Westin, Abby Maruska and Jessica Gruenes placed sixth with a time of 1:59.18.

The 4x400M relay team finished off the running events a second place finish.  The team consisted of Bengtson, Westin, Dehmer and Gruenes (4:31.52).

“Becker looked good as far as being in the lead for team scores until the final field event was entered, which was the pole vault,” said Reimer-Kealy.

“We did not score in that event and Foley racked up 23 points  to push ahead of us.”

“It looks to be and exciting season,” she said. “All-in-all it was a good official first meet for the season.  We really are looking forward to getting outside but it looks like that will have to wait for a bit.”

Up Next
Monday, Reimer-Kealy’s team was scheduled to be at Milaca, but the meet will be moved to Becker at the field house due to the anticipated weather and snow conditions.
