In the second game of last weekend’s Granite Classic tournament, the Lady Bulldogs basketball team dropped a tough game to Hutchinson to fall to 4-2.
The Tigers improved to 7-1 and are a 3A state tournament hopeful along with the Bulldogs.
Hutchinson outrebounded Becker 38-33 and outshot Becker 52-41%.
“Freshman Brynn Beffert, was a handful for us,” said Head Coach Dan Baird.
Beffert is a dominant post player who scored 16 pts. to go with nine rebounds.
“Not only that, she found her teammates and really broke down our defense,” said Baird. “Hutchinson shot really well and did a great job winning the 50/50 balls on this night.”
Baird pointed out his team will be getting the very best from their opponents all year and need to be ready to go each and every night.
“There is a target on the Bulldogs this year,” he said. “Hutch wanted this game really bad, and they took it to us. You can’t do anything but congratulate them on a great performance. They deserved the win!”
Adeline Kent led the Bulldogs in scoring with 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists and five steals.
“Addy gave us a ton of energy and played a great all around game,” said Becker’s head coach.
