Girls Cross Country Take Second In Monticello

Becker girls cross country raced in the Monticello Invitational and won second place last Saturday.
 
The girls had an amazing day at the meet, facing off against several state ranked teams and had to battle a very difficult course that had sand, gravel, grass, hills  and more!
 
All top five runners on the girl’s varsity team finished in the top 16 and under 21 minutes.  Alli Hendrickson was the first Becker runner to cross the finish line at 19:43:78 and securing fourth place for her team.  
 
Finishing closely behind was Victoria Kolbinger at 19:51:91 in eigth place and Lexi Dehmer at 20:00:16 in ninth.
 
The fourth on the varsity team to finish was Adeline Kent, with a new personal record of 20:25:41 finishing 14th followed by Dani Nuest, with a personal record 20:38.8 finishing in 16th place.  Finishing up varsity was Maddie McDonald in 35th and Jaden Kraus in 44th.
 
The JV team finished fifth.  Megan Gregory placed 15th at 22:54.17 and Abby Nelson placed 17th at 23:01.83.  Both girls ran personal records and finished strong.  
 
Rounding up the top seven runners were Kaylyn Wiehle in 45th, Tate Spinner in 48th 25:00.64, Karly Kowalsky in 50th, Alli Garding in 54th, and Olivia Mateyka in 78th.
 
The girls next competition was Thursday at Little Falls and Varsity runs on Sept. 23 at Griak.
