Girls Cross Country Take Second At Home

After much rain Becker was still able to host the Becker Cross Counytu Invitational Tuesday  and won second with 43 points.

The course was soggy and had to undergo several adjustments to avoid water but orgsnizers were happy to be able to put on the meet after all the rain.
There were 11 schools participating in the meet.

"This gave our Becker girls some excellent competition since Minnetonka is ranked 2nd in the state class AA polls while Becker is ranked 11th." Coach Kealy states.

Becker girls competed very well with the top five finishing in the top 15 out of 68 total runners.

The first girl was Alli Hendrickson placing 4th (19:55.4), Lexi Dehmer was looking strong in 6th (20:05.5), followed by Victoria Kolbinger placing 8th (20:15.5), Adeline Kent 12th (20:37.2), Dani Nuest 13th (20:40.25).

"We are very happy with the pack running our girls are doing and also with the 45 second spread between our top 5.  We still hope to tighten that up a bit, but we are working in the right direction," states Coach Kealy.

Rounding out the varsity was Abby Nelson, running strong in 30th (22:21.76) and Maddie McDonald 52nd (24:50.17), who recently returned from illness.

The JV girls also took second place to Minnetonka. JV girls had three PRs and three more season best times.

Scoring runners wereMegan Gregory 14th (22:49.34), Jaden Kraus 15th (PR 22:49.6), Kaylyn Whiele 24th (23:46.64), Alli Garding 26 (season best 23:57.84), Tate spinner 38th (24:59.10).

Coach Kealy stated, "We want to give a shout out to everyone who helped make our home invitational a success, including but not limited to Jesse and Mr. Niemi from the activities office and Mr. Tweten for helping set up the course and serving as our starter.  We also were thrilled to have our Becker HS Pep Band play for our meet!"

The girls next meet is Saturday in Alexandria at the Lions Meet of Champions and then Tuesday in Albany.
