Girls Cc Team Wins Princeton Invite

The Becker girls cross country team started their season with a decisive win at the Princeton Invitational held Thursday.  The team scores were Becker 34, United North Central 79, Heritage Christian 85, Princeton 91, Hibbing 108, Zimmerman 135, Spectrum 148 and St Cloud Christian, Braham, and Legacy were incomplete.

Senior Alli Hendrickson repeated as meet champion in the 5K race and Victoria Kolbinger came in 2nd. Also placing in the top 10 were 7th grader Dani Nuest in her first race placing 4th and 8th grader Addy Kent finishing very strong in 6th.  Rounding out Becker's varsity were Jaden Kraus (21st) Maddie McDonald (24th), Megan Gregory (28th) and Abby Nelson (33rd).

Alli took off to an early lead and stayed there the entire race.  She is very determined to make a return trip to the state meet and looks very strong.  Victoria moved up during the race to second place and really has been improving.

Dani and Addy worked together well and pushed one another to good performances.  Addy's experience from last year was very helpful and her time was much better than at this meet last year.

For Dani's first race it was a very good performance and she fit right in.

Maddie McDonald is a returning varsity runner. She had a bit of trouble with dehydration but otherwise had a good day.

Jaden, Megan and Abby are  all freshmen who ran their first varsity races.   They did a great job and experience will help them to improve through the season.

The Bulldogs were with out Lexi Dehmer who has been ill but the other girls all stepped up to perform well.  The Bulldogs are very excited for our upcoming season!
