BULLDOG CENTER ALEX JOHNSON had 18 points in two games this past week, but it wasn’t enough to help the girls basketball team from dropping two games this week.
POINT GUARD ABBY MORRELL has played great defense and dished the ball effectively while adding to the scorer’s sheet in each game so far this year.

Girls Bb Team Falls To 1 2

The Becker Bulldog girls basketball team dropped two games this week following their impressive first game win over Delano last week.

Cardinals 53, Bulldogs 44

Alex Johnson had a dozen points, four rebounds and one blocked shot, but it wasn’t enough as Becker lost to Annandale Tuesday night at home by nine to fall to 1-2.

Hannah Medvec did most of the damage for the Cardinals as she scored 18 points, had five rebounds, two assists and two steals in the win. Also scoring for Annandale were Hannah Spaulding with 15, Kamryn D'Heilly with 8, Brittany Reimer with 7, Hannah Purcell with 4 and Hannah Groth with one.

Becker jumped out to a 19-11 lead heading into halftime, but the wheels fell off in the second when the Cardinals poured in 42 points to Becker’s 25 to take the win.

Scoring for Becker were Johnson (12), Rachel Vogel (10), Amanda Lindsay (7), Carlee Kobow (6), Whitney Raygor (5), Haley Benda (2) and Abbigail Morrell (2).

Saints 48, Bulldogs 37

Becker traveled to St. Francis last Friday and lost their first game of the year to the Fighting Saints, 48 - 37.

Carlee Kobow had 10 points and Alexa Hanowski added nine for the Bulldogs in their first game on the road of their 2014-15 season.

Also scoring for Becker were Amanda Lindsay with seven, Alex Johnson with six and Abbigail Morrell with five.
