Several honors to the Becker girls basketball team were presented this week during this pandemic suspension of sports.

The girls basketball team was named this week’s Old Dutch Quality Team of the Week on Tuesday on the Mike Max show on WCCO Radio.

The Bulldogs were on a strong postseason run when the state tournament was canceled. They had defeated Alexandria and Waconia to advance to the Class 3A state championship game against DeLaSalle, a game that was not played due to the Covid-19 situation.

Becker finished with a record of 28-2, losing only to Hopkins and Hutchinson.

As reported by the Becker High School Activities Dept., girls basketball Head Coach Dan Baird was selected as the State Class AAA Head Coach of the Year and assistant coach Dom Squires was named State Class AAA Asst. Coach of the year.
