The Becker boys and girls cross country teams held their awards night with a pot luck dinner this week.
The girls team was awarded the Minnesota High School Coaches Association Gold academic award and the boys team was awarded the Silver academic award.
Academic all-state went to Alli Hendrickson.
Plaques were given to the most valuable runners. For the girls it was Hendrickson and for the boys it was Luke Pappenfus.
For most improved, Victoria Kolbinger and Karly Kowalsky won iy for the girls while Jake Nelson won it on the boys side.
Hendrickson won most dedicated for the girls and Pappenfus for the boys.
Adeline Kent won rookie award for the girls and Justin Kringler for boys.
The team’s Bulldog award went to Lexi Dehmer (girls) and Wyatt Hiltner (boys).
The G.O.A.T. award was handed out to Basil Ricker.
Named to all-conference were Hendrickson, Kolbinger, Dehmer, Kent and Gabrielle Imm for the girls and Pappenfus and Ricker for the boys.
Honorable mention went to Maddie McDonald (girls) and Jonathan Novak (boys).
Letterwinners were Abby Fingarson, Belinda Edling, Dehmer, Callie Doucette, McDonald, Kent, Grace Smith, Tate Spinner, Alyssa Thielen, Kolbinger, Imm, Alllyna Storms, Hendrickson and Sydney Stommes for the girls and Even Schafer, Jake Nelson, Kringler, David Myres, Ricker, Novak, Pappenfus, Bennett Edling and Christian Riffe for the boys.
Captains were chosen for next season and for the boys it was Pappenfus, Novak and Kringler and for the girls it is Hendrickson, Kayden Westin and Jessica Sand.
Sioux Falls Meet
Several Becker runners participated in the Nike Heartland Regional Cross Country race last Saturday in Sioux Falls, SD.
Teams participating came from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Kansas.
Pappenfus, Novak, Kringler, Myres, Ricker, Jake Nelson, Bennett Edling, Hendrickson, Kolbinger, Stommes, Imm and McDonald were the runners representing Becker and Minnesota.
