The U15 girls from Tri-County United (TCU) soccer team took second place in the Schwan’s USA Cup last weekend in Blaine.
The girls played a hard championship game, falling to the Force SC Hassen team, 5-4.
Tri- County United is made up of kids from Becker, Big Lake and Zimmerman.
The team finished third in pool play but came back to win their way to the championship game. The team really worked hard and played their best soccer of the year.
The U15 girls team is coached by Ben Strom. Players include: Kelsi Anderson, Aubry Barthel, Maddy Dahl, Megan Gamble, Mackenzie Haley, Mackenzie Janisch, Abby Larson, Amanda Minor, Riley Norberg, Kaylin Peterson, Rose Roehlke, Josephine Rowley, Kennedy Rusin, Serena St. Denis, Sarah Tucker, Abby Valencia, Ava Viznor, and Ella Williams.
“They are a fantastic group,” said Coach Strom. “Their determination and hard work all year was unmatched. I couldn't be more proud of them and the way they played.”
The USA Cup was held July 17-22 at the National Sports Center in Blaine. There where 1150 youth teams from around the world. Two other teams also competed in the USA Cup this year, including the U9 and the U13 girls teams.
