The Becker girls golf team head two meets this week, one at home Monday and one on the road Wednesday.
Becker Invitational
With the final Granite Ridge Conference meet being held at Pebble Creek Monday, the matchup of the day was between conference scoring leader Hannah Garcia and Milaca’s Ellie Banks. Garcia came into the event with a slight lead over Banks and the two of them were inserted into a foursome together to battle it out.
Becker’s Garcia out-dueled Banks 88 to 91 and captured the scoring title.
Becker was short-handed again as Kylee Rick remained on the sidelines with an injury. Gretchen Graftaas was able to get in a round of nine holes before she had the leave to get ready for the spring choir show later that day.
Emma Benson shot a 149 in her round.
Milaca captured the team title with a 387 score. Cathedral was second with a 393, Albany third with a 409, Mora fourth with a 448, Foley fifth with a 465, Little Falls sixth with a 551 and Becker last with an incomplete because they didn’t have four complete players.
Annandale Scramble
Becker participated in an 18-team scramble in Annandale Wednesday and finished 14th.
Garcia and Graftaas were teamed up in the scramble and shot a 75. Benson played alone (with Rick still out because of injury) and shot a 115.
Ashley Trongard and Lanie Mages of BOLD captured first place with a 71 score. They were followed by Meredith Girard and Kylie Knodel of Hutchinson (72), Nicole Nelson and Siera Dagner of Annandale Red (73), Clara Godoy-Henderson and Tiana Blix of Mound Westonka (73), Makayla Snow and Olivia Hanson of BOLD (73) and Emma Kraft and Alex Hantge of Hutchinson (74).
BOLD won the tournament with a team total of 144 followed by Hutchinson at 146.
