The Becker girls golf team competed three times this week, with Hannah Garcia leading the way for the Bulldogs.

At Albany

The girls traveled to Albany Monday for a Granite Ridge Conference meet. The weather was ideal with 75º and sunny skies.

Then Bulldogs finished last with a 461. Milaca captured first place with a team total of 381.

Kayla Schneider of Albany was medalist with an 87.

Becker’s Garcia topped the Bulldogs with around of 90. She was followed by Gretchen Graftaas with a 108, Kylee Rick with a 113 and Emma Benson with a 150.

At Foley

Tuesday, the girls hit the road for Foley and did not qualify in the event since they were down one player and had no other substitutes.

It was a nine-hole event and Milaca’s Ellie Banks finished first with a 40 and her team also took first with a team score of 180.

Becker’s Garcia tied for second with a 42. Her teammates, Graftaas and Benson shot 49 and 65.

At Little Falls

Another beautiful spring day (80º and sunny) saw the girls battle familiar foes in another GRC tournament Thursday.

Milaca again won the event with a team score of 375. Becker finished last with a score of 466.

Keely Murphy of Foley was medalist with an 87.

Becker’s Hannah Garcia shot a 92 and continues to lead the conference in points with 64. Ellie Banks of Milaca is a close second with 61 points and Albany’s Brooke Lemke is third at 56.5 points.

With the final regular season tournament Monday in Becker, Garcia has a chance to take the conference title if she can hold off Banks on Garcia’s home course.

Milaca leads the conference as a team with 32 points with Cathedral and Albany second at 29. Foley is at 17 points while Mora is at 13, Little Falls at 12 and Becker at eight.
