The Becker Dazzlers dance team submitted four nominations (two for kick and two for jazz) for the Minnesota Association of Dance Teams (MADT) All-State Team this past week. Two Dazzlers were selected out of more than 275 entries by a panel of head dance team coaches from throughout the state of Minnesota. The dancers nominated for jazz were sophomore and jazz captain Madison Anderson and sophomore Mikayla Henkemeyer — both four-year members of the Dazzlers. For kick, junior co-captain Lindsey Baloun and sophomore co-captain Heather Sanders were selected who are also four-year members of the dance team.
Anderson was named to the All-State team in jazz and Baloun named to the All-State team in kick.
Anderson and Baloun have been invited and will perform at the 2014 MADT All-State Dance Show Sat., Mar. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Wayzata High School. Both athletes are responsible for learning two routines on their own from a video and have been asked to choreograph a short individual routine to be incorporated into the show. The dancers will be put into formation with other All-State dancers on the day of the show and after a short practice put on their performance.
