TESSA FOTH, a 1998 BHS graduate and Augustana College alum, was inducted into the USSSA Softball hall of fame Friday in Brooklyn Center.

Foth Inducted Into Softball Hof

Former Bulldog Tessa (Foth) Weinmeyer was one of nine men and women   inducted into the USSSA Softball Hall of Fame Friday in Brooklyn Center.
 
The event was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton and included a social hour and dinner along with the induction of the hall of fame recipients.
 
Tessa, 37, a 1998 graduate of Becker High School,  was a shortstop in high school for the Bulldogs under Coach Judee Vesledahl and went on to star at Augustana College in Sioux Falls. She was the St. Cloud Times’
 
All-Area player of the year and a First Team All-American for Duffy Engineering in ASA Women’s slow-pitch softball in 2004.
 
At Augustana, Foth excelled on the field and at the plate as she currently holds the club record for most games played at 264. She also holds the record for most games started at 263 and is second in most at-bats with 852. She is seventh in most runs scored at 169, tied for sixth for most hits with 282, third in most doubles with 60, seventh with most triples (11) and seventh in most RBIs with 161.
 
She also holds the seventh best record for most total bases (433) and fourth best for most times reaching a base on an error (27).
 
As a shortstop during her tenure at Augustana, Foth completed her college career by being tied for fourth for most double plays turned (29).
 
Following her high school and college softball days, Tessa went on to play for a team called Xtreme in USSSA competition. In 2016, Xtreme traveled to Florida where her squad finished tied for fifth in B and A World levels.
 
Tessa continues to play for Xtreme to this day, though the team’s name has changed to PHD Sports Xtreme and she has moved from the infield to the outfield.
 
Tessa got married March 27 of 2016 (Brady) and she and her husband currently live in Woodbury with Brady’s two young boys. Tessa currently teaches as a special education teacher at Bellaire Education Center in White Bear Lake.
 
Her parents are Dawn Manke (Stepdad Terry) and Art Foth.
 
“This is a huge honor and was completely unexpected,” Tessa said about her nomination.
 
“It’s a privilege to be part of some of my current and past players who have been named to this distinction. I’m very excited.”
